Delete your account

Deleting from the app is immediate and needs no approval from us.

1. Open Date Africa Diamonds and sign in.
2. Go to Settings in your profile.
3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

Your account is removed straight away. This cannot be undone, and your membership does not transfer to a new account.

You do not need to reinstall the app to delete your account. Email privacy@dateafricadiamond.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.

We may ask you to confirm one detail so that nobody can delete an account that is not theirs. We will not ask for your password, and we will never ask for payment details.

You can also use the support form and choose Privacy or data request.

Deleting your account removes:

• Your sign-in credentials and the account itself.
• Your profile and every detail in it.
• Your photos.
• Your matches and your messages.
• Your likes, Sparks and Golden Sparks.
• Your verification submission, including any document and selfie.
• Your notification settings and device push tokens.
• Your subscription and entitlement records held by us.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore an account once it has been deleted.

A small amount of information can outlive the account, for reasons the law recognises:

• Safety records. Where an account was removed for breaking our Community Guidelines, or where a report was made about serious harm, we keep enough to enforce that decision and stop the same person returning. Keeping this protects other members.
• Records the law requires us to keep, such as transaction records for tax or accounting purposes.
• Encrypted backups. Deleted data can persist in routine backups until they are overwritten on their normal cycle.

To be confirmed before launch: the exact retention period for safety records and the backup overwrite cycle.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so they must be cancelled where they were bought:

• iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Date Africa Diamonds → Cancel.
• Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Date Africa Diamonds → Cancel.

Cancel first, then delete, so that you are not billed again. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.
