Read this before you trust anyone's safety page, including ours.

Verification raises the cost of pretending to be someone else. It does not make it impossible, and it says nothing about whether a real person is honest, kind or safe to meet.

Moderation catches what is reported and what is detectable. It cannot see inside a private conversation the way a friend can, and it cannot know what someone intends.

No platform can guarantee your safety when you meet someone in person. What we can do is be honest about that, give you real controls, and make sure you know the specific things that protect people — starting with never sending money.

If anyone tells you their platform makes online dating risk-free, stop reading and leave.

The one rule

Never send money to someone you have met online

Not for a flight. Not for a hospital bill. Not for customs, a visa, a business deal, or a short-term loan they promise to repay. Not in gift cards, not in cryptocurrency, and not by receiving a payment and passing it on.

You do not have to work out whether the story is true. Apply the rule without exception and the entire category of romance fraud stops working on you. If someone asks, report them.

How to report something

In the app, use the report option on the profile or in the conversation. This is the fastest route, because the relevant context is attached automatically.
If you cannot access the app, email safety@dateafricadiamond.com with as much detail as you can.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Nothing you report to us should delay that.
If money has changed hands, contact your bank straight away and report it to your national fraud or police service.

Are members verified?

Verification is part of the experience and exists to raise the cost of pretending to be someone you are not. We will publish exactly what our verification checks involve before launch, so you can judge the signal for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Every profile and conversation can be reported, and you can block anyone at any time without explanation. Reports are reviewed against our Community Guidelines, and accounts that break them lose access.

How do you protect me from romance scams?

No dating platform can promise that fraud will never reach you, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can do is verify members, act on reports, and be direct about the single rule that stops most romance fraud: nobody you meet here should ever need your money. If someone asks, report them.
