Terms of Use
The agreement between you and us: who can join, what you may and may not do, and how we handle problems.

Pre-launch draftThis document is a pre-launch draft
Date Africa Diamonds is not yet publicly available. This document is published so you can see our intentions before you join, and it will be finalised — and legally reviewed — before the apps launch. Where a detail is still to be confirmed, we say so rather than fill the gap.
This agreement
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Date Africa Diamonds website and mobile applications. By using the services you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
The operating entity and the governing law that applies to this agreement will be confirmed in this section before launch.
Who can use the services
You may use the services only if you:
- are aged 18 or over — this is enforced by our systems, and an account cannot be created with a date of birth under 18;
- are legally able to enter into a binding contract with us;
- have never been convicted of a felony, a sexual offence, or any crime of violence, and are not required to register as a sex offender with any authority;
- have not previously been removed from the services by us.
We may verify eligibility at any time and may suspend or remove an account that does not meet these requirements.
Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for keeping your login details secure. One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not create an account on someone else’s behalf.
Tell us immediately at support@dateafricadiamond.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Acceptable use
Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. In addition, you must not:
- solicit money, financial information or anything of value from another member, in any form and for any reason;
- use the services for commercial purposes, advertising, recruitment or the promotion of another service;
- harass, threaten, defame, stalk or abuse another person, or post content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually exploitative;
- post content that is not yours to post, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- scrape, copy, or attempt to extract data from the services, or use bots or automated means to access them;
- attempt to interfere with, compromise or circumvent the security of the services.
Content you post
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of operating and improving the services. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to retain it or where it is needed for safety or legal reasons.
You are responsible for what you post. We may remove content that breaches these terms or our guidelines.
Your safety is your responsibility too
We take safety seriously, but we do not conduct criminal background checks on members unless we say otherwise, and we cannot guarantee the conduct of any member. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people.
Please read our Safety Guidelines before you meet anyone. In particular: never send money to someone you have met online. Our Child Safety Standards set out our absolute prohibition on any content or conduct involving minors.
Membership and payments
Memberships are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those stores are the merchant of record: they take the payment, hold your payment details, and manage renewals, cancellations and refunds under their own terms. We never see or store your card details.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancel through your store account — see how to cancel a subscription. Deleting your Date Africa Diamonds account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are granted by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. We can help you find the right route, but we cannot issue a store refund on your behalf.
To be confirmed before launch: published prices, available billing periods and any introductory or trial terms. No pricing is published on this website until it is final.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the services and delete your account at any time, from inside the app or by request — see Delete your account. Deletion is permanent.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or our guidelines, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect other members. Where it is appropriate and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the services. We aim to keep the services available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice.
Disclaimers and liability
The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. The remaining limitation of liability, and its financial cap, will be confirmed before launch.
Disputes and governing law
The governing law, jurisdiction and dispute resolution process will be confirmed in this section before launch. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@dateafricadiamond.com — most issues are resolved quickly that way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and take reasonable steps to tell you. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
