Child Safety Standards

Date Africa Diamonds is an adults-only service for people aged 18 and over. There is no version of this service for minors, and no circumstance in which a minor is permitted to hold an account.

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form, absolutely and without exception. That includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualised depiction of minors, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt by an adult to make sexual contact with a minor.

There is no warning and no second chance for this category. Accounts are removed permanently, and we report to the appropriate authorities.

• Age is required at sign-up. Everyone must provide a date of birth.
• Under-18 accounts are rejected by our systems. The age rule is enforced in the database itself, not only in the app, so it cannot be bypassed by a modified client or a direct API call.
• Identity verification. Members can verify with an identity document and a selfie, reviewed by a trained reviewer. This raises the difficulty of a minor holding a convincing account.
• Reporting is available on every profile and in every conversation, so suspected underage users can be flagged immediately by anyone.
• Suspected minors are removed. Where we believe an account holder is under 18, we suspend it pending review and delete it if the concern stands. We do not require proof from the reporter.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Nothing you report to us should delay that call.

To report to us:

• In the app — use the report option on the profile or in the conversation, and choose the child safety reason. This is the fastest route because the relevant context is attached automatically.
• By email — write to safety@dateafricadiamond.com. Child safety reports are prioritised above all other queues.
• Through this website — use the support form and select Report a safety concern.

You do not need proof and you do not need to be certain. A suspicion is enough, and we would far rather review a report that turns out to be nothing.

We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a report in good faith.

• Reports involving a child are triaged ahead of every other report type.
• A reviewer examines the account and the reported content, including the conversation where one is attached to the report.
• Where the concern is substantiated, the account is permanently removed and the evidence is preserved for the authorities rather than deleted.
• We take steps to prevent the same person creating another account.
• We cooperate with law enforcement and act on valid legal requests.

To be confirmed before publication: the named person or role accountable for child safety, the statutory reporting body we report to in our operating jurisdiction (for example NCMEC, IWF or a national equivalent), the retention period for preserved evidence, and our target response time for a CSAE report. These are business and legal commitments and must be set by the owner, not assumed.

The following result in immediate, permanent removal and may be reported to law enforcement:

• Any sexual content involving a minor, in any medium.
• Sexualised commentary about a minor, including about someone shown in a photograph.
• Any attempt to contact, groom, meet or obtain images from someone under 18.
• Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images.
• Trafficking, or advertising sexual services.
• Creating an account on behalf of, or while under the supervision of, a minor.
